Hillcrest is open to and welcomes visitors. There are ample common areas in which to meet visitors or residents may choose to meet their visitors in their own bedroom.
Whilst we are aware of each resident’s right to choose how they wish to spend their time, we try to encourage everyone to become part of the Hillcrest Community by joining in some of our organised activities which are designed to boost fitness, good mental health and wellbeing. Residents who cannot or do not wish to participate in group activities will be provided with a choice of one-to-one tailored activities to suit their needs.
Our resident Activities Co-ordinator hosts a weekly programme of events and activities. Activities range from yoga, exercise to music, bingo, games, cards, quizzes, music and dance. Many of our residents particularly enjoy taking part in art therapy classes and some of their exceptional talent is on display in the lobby of The Lodge.
"There is regular music and entertainment for the residents and family members are always welcome."
In addition to our weekly activities programme we regularly organise days out and some of our most recent, highly rated outings have included trips to Oakfield Park, Glenveagh Castle and Ards Forest Park. Two of our more popular outings are in December when we go ‘Christmas shopping’ in Derry and to view the Christmas light display in Kerrykeel.
"Yesterday's Christmas lunch outing was a great example of the level of organisation and resident satisfaction that Hillcrest delivers."
