Anne Gallagher

Hillcrest Nursing Home is privately owned and operated by Anne. She was born in Donegal and having completed her training and ten years nursing experience at Gransha Hospital in Derry in the 1980s, Anne’s career took her to England where she gained and held several management positions. She returned to Donegal in 2003 and acquired Hillcrest House Nursing Home where for twenty years, Anne’s professional approach, ambition and pride in her work has ensured that Hillcrest enjoys a thoroughly deserved reputation as one of the best-run nursing homes in the county.

"What struck me was the fresh ambience which is not typical in a place dealing with elderly care which is, without doubt, due to the leadership and management of Anne Gallagher who is completely resident-focussed and extremely warm and caring. The qualified staff make my mum feel safe and loved."

Our Staff

Hillcrest nursing home employs eleven registered nurses who oversee the day-to-day delivery of medical and nursing care to residents.

Nurses are backed up by care assistants, both male and female, whose role is meeting all the other one-to-one care needs of residents ranging from bathing, dressing and grooming to assisting with meals.  Residents are offered their preference of a male or female carer to ensure they feel comfortable and that their privacy and dignity is respected.

Other ancillary staff including our Cooks, Activities Co-ordinator, Office Administrator and Laundry and Cleaning staff, together with the managers, nursing and care staff make up the team responsible for the ‘home from home’ feeling we aim to deliver every day.

"The staff at Hillcrest are caring and compassionate.  It's nice to be welcomed when visiting and made feel at home."
